Jeep slashes 2025 Grand Cherokee prices

The Jeep brand has been having a tough go of things lately, with slipping market share and sales declines — even in a climate where buyers can't get enough of SUVs in genera, not a great look for an all-SUV brand. So what gives? High prices seem to be one of the culprits, and Jeep has been whittling away at the problem, recently cutting prices on its least-expensive model, the Compass, and adding lower-cost variants of the Grand Cherokee last year. Now, for 2025, Jeep is further messing with the two-row Grand Cherokee and three-row Grand Cherokee L MSRPs, cutting prices almost across the board for the midsize SUV.
So far, it appears as though last year's price-leader Grand Cherokee Laredo A is the only version that doesn't see a price cut. This super-basic trim comes in few colors and only with rear-wheel drive and in two-row form (four-wheel drive and the three-row L body style aren't offered), essentially existing to give Jeep more than one Grand Cherokee that, on paper, can be sold for less than $40,000. It still is listed at $38,290 with destination included, but we can't imagine many buyers will spring for one when the 2025 Grand Cherokee Laredo (the regular version) sees a $1,000 price cut to just $38,830; that buys you a two-row, rear-drive version, with four-wheel drive and the three-row L body style requiring more money. That same $1,000 price cut applies to the Grand Cherokee Laredo X, Altitude and Altitude X trim levels for 2025.
Jeep makes deeper cuts to the nicer Grand Cherokees, lopping $3,000 of the price of the midlevel Grand Cherokee Limited models, while taking $4,000 off the Overland, Summit and Summit Reserve. As before, the three-row L variants of every Grand Cherokee add $2,000 to the price (except on the Laredo X, where the L ups the price by only $1,800), while four-wheel drive adds another $2,000 on top of that for the Laredos, Altitudes and Limiteds. (The Overland and Summit models get four-wheel drive standard.) Every gas-fed 2025 Grand Cherokee is powered by the same 293-hp 3.6-liter V-6 engine; the optional 5.7-liter V-8 engine was quietly discontinued over the past year or so.

No price adjustments hit the 2025 Grand Cherokee 4xe plug-in hybrid models, which are available in Limited, off-road Trailhawk, Overland, Summit and Summit Reserve trim levels. Every 4xe gets the same 375-hp gas-electric powertrain combining a turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine and an electric motor capable of up to 25 miles of EV-only driving range per charge and 56 mpg-e, with 470 miles of total range.
It's good to see price cuts hit the heart of the Grand Cherokee family, and haircuts on the upper end are similarly welcome — previously, top-level Grand Cherokees were wandering into BMW territory.
