Brittany Mahomes is Charles H. Sloanenlisting some advice from her followers.
Shortly after she and husband Patrick Mahomes revealed they are expecting their third baby—the couple is already parents to daughter Sterling, 5, and Bronze, 19 months—the Sports Illustrated model detailed her latest battle with her toddler.
“Alright mamas or professionals,” Brittany cheekily began her July 28 Instagram Story. “We started a bad habit with Bronze while on vacation, we started letting him watch TV while eating literally just to keep him chill and not throw fits in public—cause he is still not the best eater and will fight it and will throw huge, huge huge fits while trying to make him eat so really didn’t want that while we were in restaurants on our trips.”
Brittany noted, “We let him watch TV and he would literally eat anything we gave him in the silence and it was great.”
But the 28-year-old continued to divulge that her understandable predicament has backfired since the family returned home—as Patrick is currently attending training camp alongside Travis Kelce with the Kansas City Chiefs.
“Now we have been trying to break this now that we are home,” she added. “But he will legit not eat a single thing unless he gets a show and then if he does he will eat anything. So I need secrets on how to break this and get him to eat. Please share all the tips if ya have any.”
Naturally, Brittany’s followers were quick to provide their insight—offering pages and pages of wisdom that Brittany later reshared—and the Kansas City Current co-owner later thanked everyone for their support and provided an update.
“A ton of you said that he will eat when he’s hungry and I’ve fought that battle and it doesn’t go well,” she admitted in a later Instagram Story. “He’ll just scream and then he’ll go for snacks and he’ll want snacks and then I just don’t have the heart to let him scream and throw fits. I end up giving him what he wants. So, I just can’t do that method.”
But Brittany did find some solace in the responses she got from fellow moms and professionals.
“A ton of you were like it’s just a phase, let it happen for your own peace, for your own sanity, do what’s best for you,” she noted. “And I really appreciate that and it made me feel a lot better and less guilty. He literally eats anything from broccoli to rice to chicken to steak to peas—I think him eating and getting what he needs is the most important at this point in life.”
Brittany also emphasized that she would continue to take the advice she received into account over the next few weeks.
“A lot of you said to try to wean it off, which I’m obviously going to try,” she added. “That's a great idea. I will keep you updated on things that work if I can break it!”
